Near Karl-Franzens-University
Propeller: Popular bar/restaurant with beer garden close to Karl Franzens University. Beside a great range of food and special seasonal offers there’s a lunch buffet during workdays.
Cafe Global: Located in a small one way street behind the OEH building, the oriental coffee shop offers fresh food at excellent prices. With your ESNcard you get special discounts.
3 goldene Kugeln (also at Bahnhofgrtel 89, Griesplatz 34 and Riesplatz 1): In the various restaurants that are located in several places of Graz you’ll find Austrian cuisine at very good prices.
Bierbaron/Sägewerk/Posaune/Grammophon/Zeppelin: These diners all belong together and offer pizza, pasta, burger, toast, salad, and sometimes desserts and breakfast with the ingredients of your choice. Just fill in the sheet of paper at your table and mark your preferred size and ingredients. If you like them, also try farther Continuum and Area5.
Z10: If you like asian food this is the best adress to go to in the area of the University. They also have cheap lunch menus.
Vegan cuisine
Erbse International: As the name indicates, the cuisine at Erbse is vegan and international. The meals are freshly prepared and also attracts many non-vegans.
Cafe Erde: Similar to Erbse International, this is a vegan restaurant. They also offer daily menus. Sometimes there is also live music. On those days you might need to reserve a table in advance, because it can get very crowded.

Casa Venti: This family run business serves delicious mixed cuisine, always with fresh ingredients. Also for a cup of coffee or a glass of Styrian wine Casa Venti is the right address. Attention: Saturday and Sunday it is closed.
Don Camillo e Peppone: The southern Flair of Franziskanerplatz is best enjoyed at one of the Italian restaurants there. The variety is large, the pizza excellent. Table bookings are recommended.
Lendplatzl: This eatery offers predominantly Styrian food made from local products. A Hightlight: the beautiful beer garden. Close to accommodation Neubaudasse
Braun de Praun: This eatery offers very good, traditional Austrian cuisine in rustic atmosphere - an insider tip to get to know Austrians taverns culture like 30 years ago.
Herzl Weinstube: Also recommendable for Austrian cuisine and very well located in the city center.
