This semester's hiking trip is going to take us to Bärenschützklamm. It is one of Austria's most famous rock ravines and has been declared a natural treasure in 1978. The rough terrain alongside its roaring waterfalls makes for a more than impressing scenery. As we ascend through the ravine, you will get a feeling for the raw power of the water that has been digging through solid rock for centuries.
After conquering the Bärenschützklamm, we will stop for lunch at a mountain refuge. There you will have the (once in a lifetime) opportunity to try the most Austrian dish there is ? SCHWEINSBRATEN (roast pork)! Of course there will also be a delicious vegetarian option for those who prefer the more animal friendly Austrian style cuisine (Lunch is included in the event price). Afterwards, There will be some time to put up our feet and enjoy the breathtaking view.
Well rested and ready for action we will start our descend to the train station. BUT WAIT! For those of you, who are still motivated and fit enough to take on a further challenge, there will be the possibility to hike even further up the Hochlantsch. With its astounding height of 1.720m the Hochlantsch is the highest peak in the area of Graz. Those who want to take on the Hochlantsch will eventually have to take a later train back to the city.

Please bring suitable hiking equipment, at least suitable (good) footwear, appropriate clothing, a raincoat, snacks (enough water!), money (for drinks).
If the weather is bad (rain), the hiking trip won't take place!
And please note, if you are wearing sandals or something unsuitable for a hike we cannot take you with us, due to safety reasons.
This is a real hike (10km), NOT A WALK!
